For objectives you have to stop for the Minigun Turret is usually all you need, but if things go sideways the Anti-Tank Emplacement will often save your ass. Sure, beacons don't work well on them, but the scouts are easy to deal with duoing and the Recoilless Rifle takes care of any tanks while on the move. I think bugs are the easiest to fight against. Of course you don't have that option for Retaliatory Strikes, so that's why the Entrenched Pack is so damn good. We often just find a nice spot on the edge of the map and let the heat die down or kill whatever follows. You do *not* have to stay and fight if an alert goes out. Cutting across the map straight to your destination is often risky. A great way to achieve that is beacons and sticking as close to the edges of the map as you can. It's really just up to preference and loadout at that point.īasically, we just metal gear our way through maps and do our best not to get caught. For Retaliatory Strikes we sometimes use Stratagem Priority, but even then Cardio Accelerator is hard to pass up. Unfortunately on snow and forest maps you'll want to take All Terrain Boots (another dlc that's pretty mandatory) or you'll be slow as molasses. Perks: Again, stealth is what we aim for, so the Cardio Accelerator perk is our go to almost always. You just have to be really careful not to get mowed down by them, so try to be mindful of placement. A/MG-II Minigun Turret: This is especially wonderful against bugs, but it's also helpful against Cyborgs. For some reason they don't work very well on the bugs, but we still get some use from them on those enemies. You'll rarely fight if you use these to your advantage. Just throw one the opposite of your objective or opposite of where you're headed and clear out. Distractor Beacon: Part of our strategy is stealth and these beacons are vital for that. You can take the Resupply stratgem if you want instead, but I prefer the Resupply Pack. A lot of times you won't find yourself resuplying, but when you need the extra ammo you will be so glad you took it. Resupply Pack: I always take this along with the Recoilless Rifle. It's a little weird at first, but it's excellent for dealing with heavily armored foes. After firing the rifle your buddy must reload it from the backpack or you can't fire again. One person holds the weapon the other puts on the backpack. RL-112 Recoilless Rifle: This is fantastic if you can get communication down with your partner. We haven't done any past 8 (which is already like hell on earth) and don't intend to. You *can* get through them, but there can be absolutely no mistakes and it just really isn't worth the trouble. Retaliatory Strikes will always be the bane of your existence and if you can avoid doing them I'd recommend just doing that. We've never gotten much out of the Kinetic Shield. The Anti-Personnel Barrier (barbwire fence) in that pack is also extremely useful in those situations. For any defense type of objectives there really is nothing better. The AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement is an absolute godsend for Retaliatory Strikes and any missions with heavily armored enemies (Cyborgs in particular). For duo players Retaliatory Strike missions will be the hardest thing you will have to deal with (we haven't tried the bosses though). Lemme start off by saying that we weren't shy with getting dlc, so not everything I suggest may be helpful.Ībove all else what helped us achieve higher difficulties is the Entrenched Pack dlc. Other than that it just takes communication and patience.Īny "i wish i knew this when i started" tips for 2 player coop? We've cleared helldives now, but we still can't do Retaliatory strikes on very high difficulties. I've seen a lot of bad advice when googling certain things simply because it seems that most people play in full rooms, so playing duo requires a lot of trial and error. At first it was pretty tough, but we figured out how to get past most things. Originally posted by Happy Cake Oven:I only play with my buddy, so duo is the only way I've ever played this game. Android phone makers offer three to five years’ worth of security updates from the time the devices are released. Apple is still providing security patches (though not necessarily iOS system updates) for models dating back to the iPhone 5s. Those are important, because they protect you and your data from cyber threats. Your phone is no longer eligible to receive security updates. So, unless you really love your 5s, the repair doesn’t make sense. The estimated trade-in value at the major wireless carriers is $0. Meanwhile, a used or refurbished 5s costs only $20 to $75 on sites like eBay and Walmart. Apple will charge you $129 to replace the 4.1-inch screen on the iPhone 5s, which debuted in 2013. Your old phone is worth less than the cost to fix the screen. Want more convincing? Here are other reasons to skip the screen replacement: If you’re willing to add a new line to your cell phone account, you can even get a new Galaxy S23 for free from Verizon the carrier will accept a damaged phone as a trade-in as long as it’s free of battery damage.Ī cracked screen can be just the excuse you need to upgrade to a Galaxy S23 or an iPhone 14. The iPhone 12, for example, is now priced at just $599. If neither choice is appealing, you might consider shopping for a refurbished phone or an unused model that’s a generation or two old. Once you have it, you can safely review your options, comparing the price to the cost of a new phone. Keep in mind that if components like the fingerprint sensor beneath the glass are also damaged, the cost of the repair may increase.īut the estimate is a good starting point. (At the latter, you need to request a figure via the chat box.) And for phones made by Google and others, you can consult services like Swappa or Ubreakifix. You can, however, find the cost estimates for specific models on the Apple and Samsung websites. And the 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs a whopping $379. For example, Apple’s cost estimate to replace the 4.7-inch screen on the iPhone SE is $129, but for the same-sized screen on the iPhone 8, it’s $149. While the repair typically costs less than the price of a new phone, the fee can vary significantly, based on the model. The AppleCare+ policy, for example, allows for no more than two for accidental damage in a 12-month period.įor those without coverage, the decision is a little trickier. There also may be limits on the claims you can make. And the components under the glass might not be eligible for repair. That’s the case with Verizon’s insurance via Asurion. With Samsung Care+, it’s $29, too.Īt times, though, you may need to have the phone serviced at an authorized repair center in a select location. With AppleCare+, you can replace the screen on any model dating back to the iPhone 5s for just $29. If the price is right, the device emerges in good working order and you squeeze another year or two of use out of it.įor those with phone insurance or an extended warranty plan, the decision is simple. Replacing a cracked screen or a battery that can’t last through the day can be a great way to extend the life of your phone. This leaves the game feeling a bit more like The Stanley Parable at times, but with perspective puzzles thrown in. One thing to note is that the puzzles rarely feel particularly difficult throughout the game they’re comparatively quite easy compared to the likes of Portal and other games in the genre. Each level feels uniquely different, but they never seem to last very long it’s a double edge sword since the short length of the stages leaves you wanting more, whilst also ensuring you never get tired of the level mechanics. Early on you will encounter some neat little perspective puzzles that have you lining up paint to create the form of an object, which you can then pick up and use a later level has you able to clone objects at the expense of being able to pick them up. Each level contains an additional gimmick to add much needed variety to the central quirky mechanic. It’s a clever trick and it is jaw-dropping every time you use it.Īltering the size of objects is the main bulk of the experience, but don’t expect it to be the sole focus. It works in reverse too: place that tiny object in your hand so that it appears to be on the floor in the distance, and then when you walk up to it you will find that it is now a giant object. This is immediately apparent at the start when your route is blocked by a huge chess piece, which you can curiously pick up from afar … except now the piece isn’t so small: shifting your perspective so that it looks smaller from a distance will, in turn, change the object into that size. The main gimmick of the game revolves around the use of perspective to manipulate the environment around you. From the get-go, you are prepared to expect the unexpected – but the best is yet to come. On signing the contract, it becomes apparent that the room has changed, and the wall with the instructions is now replaced with a doorway for you to proceed further. After testing that out, you quickly realise that it is not a static screen, and you are actually just really close to a wall in a sealed off room that contains nothing but a table and a contract. It’s a tad disappointing considering the game sets you up for an interesting tale, but really the gameplay is the true star of the show.Īs the game starts up, you are greeted with a blank screen with nothing other than directions on how to move using the analogue sticks. As you make your way through the increasing layers of your dream world, things start to get more surreal it builds up quite a crescendo as it nears the end, but then loses all momentum in an underwhelmingly muted finale that left me feeling a little let down. As your situation gets progressively worse, you rely on the guidance of Dr Glenn Pierce as he tries to help you via the radios scattered around the world. There isn’t really much of a story in Superliminal in all honesty: as a test subject in an experimental Dream Therapy program, you end up getting trapped within a cycle of recurring dreams unable to wake up. This leads us inside the window, where we can enter the room that appears at the other side. … except, wait! We can grab one of the windows in here and make it big enough to fit through! Unfortunately, it just seems to lead to an empty windowed room with seemingly nothing interactable inside. This could be useful.īy altering perspective so we can make the fan bigger, we can blow over the Jenga pile and make the door accessible! On closer inspection, there seems to be a small table next to the giant stack, with a small fan on top. We can’t grab any of the Jenga pieces, nor does there seem to be much else going on in the room. We enter a room with a massive Jenga set and a doorway at the top. Here’s an example of one of the puzzles you will encounter: That doesn’t make them any less clever or make you feel less rewarded for solving them. Unlike Portal, environments are a little more open with you navigating your way through the dreams rather than having in-depth puzzle rooms. Since these birds only reproduce once every two years, their populations are especially sensitive to each individual loss. Primarily a scavenger, condors can be sickened by consuming animals that have ingested lead or plants laden with pesticides. Unfortunately, this near-threatened species is hunted for sport or by ranchers who mistakenly view the birds as a threat to livestock. The birds travel hundreds of miles each day in search of food. Once aloft, they can soar for hours without a wing beat. These birds are so large they make their close relative, the California Condor, look like a lightweight.īecause Andean Condors are so heavy, they prefer areas where they can easily find strong thermal air currents to boost them into the air. An official symbol of many Andean countries, the Andean Condor is among the heaviest flying birds, weighing up to 33 pounds with a wingspan of up to 10.5 feet. Schon and Perry previously expressed their displeasure over Trump using the song during his campaign rallies over his earlier election campaigns, as have artists ranging from the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith to Tom Petty. Meanwhile, Cain’s lawyer says that Schon’s access to the corporate account needed to have a lid put on it after he allegedly put more than $1 million in “improper personal expenses” on the card. Indeed, the two squared off legally earlier in the fall, with Schon contending that he’s being denied access to the group’s American Express card and its records. “This just brings it all to the surface.” “The two haven’t been getting along for a while now,” says an inside source. Cain,” which has been acrimonious for some time. Schon’s statement added that it did not intend to “further add to the animosity that is currently plaguing the band and the relationship between Mr. “Neal sued Live Nation twice, losing both times, and damaging our ability to ever work with them again Neal outrageously tried to take away trademarks from Steve Perry Neal and his wife continually insult the professionalism of numerous accountants, road managers, and management firms with endless legal threats and their bullying, toxic, and incoherent emails Neal argues online with fans who don’t see eye to eye with him and Neal and his wife recklessly spend Journey’s money until there is none left for operating costs. If anyone is destroying the Journey brand, it is Neal - and Neal alone.” I have watched him damage our brand for years and am a victim of both his - and his wife’s - bizarre behavior,” he wrote, referring to the guitarist’s wife, former “Real Housewives” star Michaele Salahi Schon. “Neal Schon should look in the mirror when he accuses me of causing harm to the Journey brand. In response, a rep for Cain initially said on Wednesday, “Schon is just frustrated that he keeps losing in court and is now falsely claiming the song has been used at political rallies,” but Cain himself went further on Thursday. Journey released a new album, Freedom, in July, with Narada Michael Walden on drums and ex-Journey member and former American Idol judge Randy Jackson on bass.Marjorie Taylor Greene, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Kari Lake sang “Don’t Stop Believin’” along with Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain at a recent event with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. That case ended last year with an “amicable settlement” that saw Smith and Valory depart the band. Back in 2020, Schon and Cain filed a lawsuit against former drummer Steven Smith and former bassist Ross Valory, accusing them of engaging in an “attempted corporate coup d’état” to improperly use the Journey band name. The case isn’t the first trademark battle among Journey members. “Their respective titles have become uniquely and unmistakably associated with and point to petitioner Perry.”įreedom JN’s lawyer did not immediately return a request for comment on Tuesday. “Perry was lead singer for all 20 songs when each was first released and through to the height success and popularity,” he wrote. He also says that the use of the names as trademarks will “falsely suggest” that he’s connected to the products. In his petition, Perry quoted the contract at issue: “…no Partner may authorize, approve or disapprove any use or exploitation, or grant or license any rights in or to any Group Compositions, in whole or in part, (including, without limitation, the titles thereof) in connection with any Product or otherwise, without the prior, written, unanimous consent of all of the partners.”īy applying to register the names, Perry says Cain and Schon committed “fraud on the trademark office,” supplying the agency with inaccurate information about the true ownership rights. Perry, who left Journey in 1998, says Cain and Schon were not allowed to unilaterally register trademarks for the song names because the trio signed a partnership agreement requiring unanimous consent for any use of the tracks, for merchandise or anything else. They cover the use of the names on t-shirts, hoodies and other forms of apparel, making it easier for the band to sue someone selling those items. The disputed trademarks include “Anyway You Want It,” “Wheel In The Sky,” “Open Arms” and the titles of many of the band’s other most successful songs.
